Arrival

It’s always hard to know what to expect when arriving to a country where I’ve put a distributor in place. Sometimes they organise everything and try to create a long-term relationship. Sometimes not.

I wasn’t too sure what to expect this time, but I was pleasantly surprised. The distributor met me at the airport, dealt with the AirBnB host and made sure I was settled in.

It was the start of a good relationship.

Getting to Work

My first day was spent demoing the simulator to the team, before visiting all of the local universities.

Everything went very smoothly and everyone was keen to learn.

The Food

I LOVED the food! The portions are very generous, the food is relatively cheap and the quality is generally very good. My favourite meal was the “wednesday” meal. Imagine a chicken pasta meal where the pasta is actually crepes. Welcome to the heaven of RFISSA.

Couscous Fridays was another highlight, as was breakfast with Salma at La Sqala.

The People

The people were just lovely. Even the people that stopped me in the streets to ask for money were very gracious about the whole interaction. Kids would come up to me when I went for a run in the morning to speak some English.

The fact that everyone speaks French made me feel comfortable and allowed me to practice.

I met a lovely Moroccan lady on the plane who made me feel immediately at ease.
