Arrival

The arrival in Hong Kong was really smooth. Easier than the plane journey which is long and features an 8 hour time zone difference from the UK. A recipe for jet lag.

Upon leaving the airport, I wad hit by the hot, humid, temperatures. London was around 5-10’c, Hong Kong was more like 27’c.

The distributor (who we came to help do demos for), kindly gave me a lift and organised the hotel. A slight difference from last time when I was backpacking here and ended up in a bunk bed about 30cm away from the ceiling. A hotel room already feels like luxury in comparison.

The buildings

Event

The installation and training at Ostrava university went off without a hitch. The building was located at Syllabova 2883/19 opposite a car park and was located on the second floor (without a lift) and a new building was being constructed opposite as part of the simulation center.

It was very cool seeing the haptic / VR Virteasy Dental simulator next to a conventional dental chair.

Socials

In Ostrava I was recommended Dock Cafe by just about everyone. It didn’t disappoint, AF beer on tap, great food and live music.

Also found a restaurant, near the Main Station, called Loft which was also a hotel and bistro. All the food was amazing, with a starter of salmon gravalax and a main of roasted octopus.

Yum! 😋
