Arrival
Getting to Palma, Mallorca from the UK is both easy and cheap with lots of low budget airlines flying to and from during the day – more so in the summer of course.
If you come out of season then you’ll be able to get some really good deals. I once got a car for the week for £45(!).
Otherwise, this time, I took the shuttle bus and it was cheap and easy also. Directly outside of the arrivals with a machine to purchase tickets – with an option for English also.
Food
The food is one of the best things about Palma!
Iberian ham is a must and I also found a place called Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo which is a Majorcan family that’s been doing this for 3 centuries. Apparently the founder was shifting ice and then thought to start selling it as an ice cream. The real star is the hot chocolate though – yum, yum, yum!

Work
Working at a private university, ADEMA, in Palma which is a really lovely place for students with high tech equipment and attentive staff.
